How to get there?

By car: from Belgium it is extremely easy to get to Engelberg : after following Luxemburg – Metz – Strasburg you head for Basel, and then on to Lucerne and finally Stanz, from where you go up into the mountains for approximately 5 km. On average from Basel it takes a little under one and a half hours to Engelberg.

By train: Switzerland is famous for its very efficient railway network. Head for Lucerne, where you change onto a smaller mountain train which gets you to Engelberg. For more details on Swiss trains see www.sbb.ch.

By plane: Most convenient access by air is via Zurich. From Zurich airport trains leave to Lucerne every 30 minutes, with platforms situated right underneath the terminal building. A direct train between Zurich and Lucerne takes about an hour. The indirect journeys with change in Zurich central station will get you there in 1 hour and 10’. Once in Lucerne, you can hop on the mountain train which takes again about one hour to get you to Engelberg.
